Rathkeale Project

Located in the Limerick Province, the focus of locally intense exploration activity since the late 1990s, the Rathkeale Project covers approx. 24,000 Ha and is adjacent to the Tobermalug (Glencore) and Stonepark (G11/Connemara) deposits.

The property block has an excellent structural setting and extensive alteration, including dolomitization and Black Matrix Breccias (BMB) are seen in historical drilling, indicating the development of a large hydrothermal system within the area.

Thick breccias are developed at locations on the shelf-basin margin, interpreted as debris flows formed at a time considered critical to mineralization in the Irish Orefield. Significant occurrences have been identified, including:

  • Garranaroe: 5.8m @ 3.5% Zn
  • Cloghatrida: 6m @ 5.7% Pb & 2.8% Zn

Glencore's current published resource at Tobermalug is 44 million tonnes @ 7 % Zn & 1 % Pb (Glencore - Resources & Reserves Report 2015).

No resource is available for G11/Connemara's Stonepark - best published intersection is 7.45m @ 19.2 Zn & 8.5% Pb.

During 2017, Adventus spent ~€925,100 on a Phase 1 work program utilizing advanced geochemistry and seismics to systematically test the trend, following up on over 40,000 m of historical drilling. A follow-on ~10,000 m drilling program is being planned for 2018.
